Gotta Love Home Depote

Finding Me Some Windows

I’m going to get me some new windows. Ok six double casement windows to be exact, although in truth I need all together  twenty two double casement windows to complete the remodeling job on my house. I have narrowed my window choice down to two companies. Anderson Windows and Pella Windows.  I am trying to keep things simple nothing  to fancy. I’m sticking with a pine interior and a nice clad exterior with the basic hardware.  I only have so many dollars to spend each year on my home remodeling project.  I have to be honest I was a little blown away at some of the quotes I received.

Pella sent some guy out to measure the rough openings of each window. He sat down punched the numbers into his little laptop and Ka-Bam $24,484.01. Dude are you kidding me twenty five grand for six windows? Lets see that I have  twenty two windows that need replacing and he is quoting me a total job price of over $90,000.00 for new windows. Now I have a nice house but seriously it is not $90,000.00 worth of new windows nice. There has to be something else out there.

So I took the kind mans measurements and headed off to Menards and what do you know they sell Pella windows. I made my way to the window department and asked the nice kid, the nice High School kid to crunch some numbers for me. What do ya know he spits out the same window, so he says, and give me a price of $1000.00 per window. Just so we are all on the same page here that comes out to $6000.00 for six windows not the twenty five grand the Pella guy quoted me.

Next stop Home Depot and Anderson windows. A very nice girl by the name of Michelle crunched to numbers for me. The Anderson 400 series came in at $971.53 per window. Now this is a price I can get my budget wrapped around.

I still have some reviews to read and last minuted exterior colors to choose from but as of now I’m warming up to the Anderson’s. Leave a comment or pass on friendly advice on your experiences with either Anderson or Pella windows.
